At just 15 years old, Nathalia Flores is already making her mark both on and off the cheer mat. The 10th-grade student maintains an impressive 4.25 GPA while balancing three years of cheerleading, nine years of soccer, and her involvement in ASB.
Nathalia serves as a main base on the cheer team and enjoys the energy and teamwork that come with being part of the sport.
“I love being able to encourage a crowd to get more involved and being able to stunt with my teammates,” Nathalia said.
One of Nathalia’s favorite cheerleading memories came when her stunt group performed a tick-up perfectly. For her, moments like these make the hard work and teamwork behind each routine worthwhile. During her most recent performance, she was especially proud of staying focused and confident throughout the routine.
Through cheerleading, Nathalia has learned lessons that extend far beyond the mat. She has learned the importance of patience, perseverance, and continuing to push forward when things become difficult.
“I’ve learned how to be patient and to keep going when things get hard,” she said.
Balancing academics, athletics, ASB, and her personal life requires dedication and organization. Nathalia makes it a priority to stay organized, manage her time wisely, and plan ahead for practices and competitions while making time for schoolwork, rest, family, and friends.
Her hard work in the classroom has already earned her Principal’s Honor Roll, and she was selected as an All-American cheerleader.
The biggest influence in Nathalia’s life has been her mom, who has continually supported and encouraged her to work hard and remain strong through challenges.
“She has always supported me, encouraged me to work hard, and taught me to stay strong through challenges. She has shown me the importance of being kind, responsible, and confident. Because of her, I try to be the best version of myself and never give up.”
Nathalia also hopes to inspire younger students who dream of becoming cheerleaders. Her advice is simple and shared, “stay confident, work hard, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Keep practicing, support your teammates, and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the experience!”
When Nathalia looks toward her future, she has ambitious goals. After high school, she hopes to attend Harvard Law School and become a family lawyer. A quote that inspires her is, “Dreams don’t work unless you do” which reminds her that achieving her goals will require continued hard work and dedication.
Something Nathalia wants readers to know about her is that she is always willing to learn, grow, and try new things. She cares about the people around her and strives to bring a positive attitude wherever she goes.
With her dedication to academics, passion for cheerleading, commitment to her teammates, and determination to pursue her dreams, this Lady Titan, Nathalia Flores, is a young athlete with a bright future ahead.
