Wall-to-Wall Wonder

There wasn’t a single empty seat in the community room as families poured in, eager for an unforgettable experience. Giggles echoed off the walls, little eyes grew wide with wonder, and excitement buzzed through the air. The cause? A special visit from Thor’s Reptile Family—an incredible team of reptile handlers and educators who traveled all the way to share their love of scaly, slithery, and sensational creatures with the GT Library community.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of the GT Friends of the Library, the event was nothing short of magical. The community room transformed into a mini jungle as Thor and his team introduced over ten species of reptiles, each with its own fascinating story. From vibrant lizards and curious turtles to striking snakes and other exotic creatures, every animal brought a wave of excitement and curiosity.

Thor didn’t just showcase these animals—he educated and entertained. As he walked the room with various reptiles in hand (or gently draped over his shoulders), he shared insights about each animal’s natural habitat, diet, and even personal quirks and favorite snacks. The children listened with rapt attention, their faces lighting up with every new fact and funny anecdote.

But the real magic happened when Thor invited the kids to get up close and personal. As reptiles were carefully brought around the room, children leaned in, some squealing with joy, others holding their breath in awe, all of them fully immersed in the moment. Brave little hands reached out to touch smooth scales and cool shells, while parents snapped pictures of their wide-eyed adventurers.

Laughter filled every corner, questions poured in from curious young minds, and the room was alive with learning and joy. It was more than just a demonstration—it was an unforgettable experience.

A huge thank you goes out to Thor’s Reptile Family for bringing their knowledge, kindness, and incredible animals to the community And a standing ovation to the GT Friends of the Library for organizing such a thrilling, educational, and community-centered event.

If this is any indication of what’s to come, we can’t wait to see what the Friends of the Library have planned next. Until then—cheers to community, curiosity, and cold-blooded creatures!
