A Panhandler is arrested for warrants amounting to $1.5 million

On Sunday, May 21, 2017, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Deputy Gile from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Grand Terrace Police, was flagged down by a concerned citizen in the area of Mt Vernon Ave and Canal Street. Deputy Gile was advised that a homeless person was walking northbound on Mt. Vernon Ave. in the lanes of traffic, down to the city of Colton. Deputy Gile contacted Kyle Todd Jury, a 25-year-old resident of the city of Colton. Jury was carrying a sign stating “Homeless, Hungry, Broke, Anything Helps.” Jury was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine, Drug Paraphernalia, and had 1.5 million dollars in warrants for his arrest. During his interview, Jury admitted to panhandling, recycling, and stealing to support his $30 to $50 a day drug habit. Jury panhandles in the Grand Terrace area and stated he makes approximately $70 a day. “Positive Change NOT Spare Change,” Give to a charity or call the toll free number for the Hope Team, 1-844-811-HOPE (4673).
