SAN BERNARDINO >> LifeStream blood donors who completed a blood donation on Monday, May 9 or Tuesday, May 10, received a free ticket, courtesy of Hangar 24 brewery, to the 2016 Hangar 24 Airfest and 8th Anniversary Celebration at Redlands Muncipal Airport on Saturday, May 14. “Hangar 24 encourages local residents to give hope to local patients and comfort to their loved ones by giving blood with LifeStream, our local blood bank,” said Ben Cook, owner, Hangar 24 Brewery. “These are local heroes who supply blood to nearby hospitals, including Loma Linda University Medical Center and Redlands Community Hospital.” Pete Petersen, an 84 year old Grand Terrace resident made his 97th trip to the San Bernardino Blood Bank and was excited to receive a free ticket to the Airfest. Pete often donates blood as a memorial request of his friend, Jack Russell, who said “Donate blood in my honor” but the ticket to the airshow was an extra bonus for Pete. Hangar 24 Airfest and 8th Anniversary Celebration featured the Patriots Jet Team and other dynamic aerial performers; live music; more than 25 food vendors, a kids’ zone, and a wide variety of Hangar 24 craft beers and all proceeds went to Hangar 24 Charities, a 501 (c)(3). Each 3 seconds some one gets a life-saving blood transfusion and the need for donors is vital and great. For a donation, call 1-800-879-4484 choose a time and location.
