GRAND TERRACE>> With numerous people from young to old, both Grand Terrace residents and community members from the Inland Empire came to the third annual Grand Terrace Lions 5k and 10k Fun Run/Walk for FREEDOM Sept. 25 at Pico Park. With an early start, participants put on their best running shoes and prepared for the event. Each participant received a T-shirt and a goodie bag along with some memories to celebrate the annual event. Krissee Rodriguez of Riverside won first place for the 5k race at 19 minutes and 44 seconds and Sherri Gandhi of Redlands won first place for the 10k race at 55 minutes. Jim McNaboe, president of the Grand Terrace Lions Club, shared a post on the Lions Club Facebook thanking all of those in attendance and those who helped make the event possible. "Thank you Grand Terrace Lions who made today’s third annual 5K and the first 10K another (Grand Terrace) Lions (a) success," he said in a statement on Facebook. He continued to thank others for the promotion of the event, coordination, water stops, volunteering, awards and more. "It is not possible to do a project like this alone and I am blessed to be part of this fantastic team," he said in the post.
