Grand Terrace's 7th annual Blue Mountain Hike is approaching, and residents are encouraged to participate. Hosted by the Friends of Blue Mountain and the Foundation of Grand Terrace, the hike is a tradition that each year draws dozens of hikers out and up Blue Mountain. All walks/hikes must begin no later than 10:45 a.m. on March 8, the day of the hike. Friendly pets are allowed, but must remain on a leash. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up any waste. Booths will be set up and there will be goodies and information about the efforts to create the Blue Mountain Wilderness Park. Commemorative T-shirts will also be available for purchase. The Emergency Operations Center will be set up with canopies, radios, literature, water and other items. Grand Terrace CERT members will assist with water, rest stations for hikers, assisting hikers and more. The hikes/walks will start at the corner of Palm Avenue and Honey Hill Drive starting at 8 a.m Saturday, March 8.
