GRAND TERRACE>> The City of Grand Terrace's Facebook page was recently named as one of the most popular pages in San Bernardino County. In a recent study, the City of Grand Terrace Facebook page, which can be located at www.facebook.com/CityofGrandTerrace/, was found to have over 1,000 Facebook followers. That is the equivalent of 9% of the city's 13,552 population. Grand Terrace was shown to have more Facebook followers than Hesperia, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Yucaipa and Barstow. Also included in the study were the cities of Colton, San Bernardino, Loma Linda, Upland, Chino, Big Bear Lake, Montclair, Rialto, Needles, Adelanto, Fontana and Victorville. The study was based on followers per population. Only three cities demonstrated a higher number of Facebook followers: the city of Twenty-nine Palms, with 16.8%, the city of Apple Valley, with 15% and the town of Yucca Valley, with 9.7%. The city of Grand Terrace utilizes Facebook to reach a number of its residents. Facebook allows citizens to have easy access to what is happening in the city. Active Facebook accounts also help draw attention to city matters, which can be extremely beneficial in terms of important notices like grant applications and the announcement of important city events. Facebook allows for a fast distribution of information. In the past year, the city of Grand Terrace has nearly doubled its number of followers. The City hopes that this trend will continue in the years to come.
