GRAND TERRACE>> On Saturday, Nov. 5, the City of Grand Terrace will host its 35th country fair, bringing the community together for some old-fashioned fun at a new location.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grand Terrace City Hall Civic Center, vendors who live or work in Grand Terrace will be selling hand-made items and home-grown plants. The community can join in on a baking contest and chili cook-off. The community is invited to sample prize-winning home-cooking food and enjoy the food entries which will be sold in individual portions after judging is completed.
Fairgoers will also be able to buy used books from the “Friends of the Library” sale, with proceeds going toward buying new books and DVDs for check out in the library.
Some of the unique features of this event are handmade quilts and crochet work, various craft items, toys, woodworking, gourd art, home décor, jewelry and many more one of a kind treasures and Christmas gifts. Community members will also find home-grown plants and produce, hand-carved walking sticks with intricate details and much more.
Various community organizations, including the Grand Terrace Lions’ Club, Citizens’ Patrol, the local 4-H club, Chamber of Commerce and the Boy Scouts, will also be on hand to meet with the public and answer questions.
The fair will take place at 22795 Barton Road in Grand Terrace and is sponsored by the Grand Terrace Historical and Cultural Activities Committee.
