Last Saturday was Cub Scout Pack 242’s Annual Blue and Gold Celebration and the celebration for the birthday of the Cub Scout program. The Webelos IIs (2s) crossed over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. We had a western themed BBQ that was prepared by the parents and leaders of the Pack. The scouts performed songs and skits for entertainment throughout the night. Volunteers for the Pack (parents and leaders) were also given awards for the time and effort they had devoted to the Pack over the last year. The 6 young men who crossed over to Boy Scouts also earned their Arrow of Light award-the highest award/honor that can be achieved in Cub Scouts. Recipients of this award include: Dustin Hogue, Gavin Murguia, John Derk, Luke Seay, Jacob Hegardt, Andrew Sanchez, and Justin Athey (who has not yet crossed over to Boy Scouts). Hegardt and Hogue were also both given a separate award for starting as a Tiger Cub in first grade and progressing up the ranks and completing the entire program.
