A Leader Who Respects "The Voice of the People"

We need a leader who respects the “Voice of the People.”

When you elect city council representatives, you are placing your faith in that person to be your voice.

An effective Mayor sheds all personal ideological differences, conflicts of interest, and has full fidelity to conducting city business.

Council members need the ability to fully deliberate, in all discussions, affecting the destiny of Grand Terrace.

As your city Council-member for six years:

☑️ Wound down costly $29 million in Redevelopment Agency Debt, saved millions in interest payments and moved to use residual for hillside stabilization, storm drains, sidewalks and park enhancements. Returning $500,000 annually to general fund.

☑️ Offered the proposal that led to ending costly wastewater litigation with the City of Colton, and along with my peers negotiated a one time $400,000 payment.

☑️ Took the lead, using some of the $400,000, to establish the The Community Benefits Fund, to support local sports leagues, youth/senior recreation activities and temporary enhanced Sheriff services.

☑️ Identified escalating pension cost and took measures to curb it.

☑️ With very little money and lots of grant funding, funded the Dog Park, the Blue Mountain trail and an active city trail system.

Grand Terrace has a history of weak and volatile revenues. Public safety cuts have stayed in place. Our long term strategy to increase revenues will be achieved by 2013 by developing 132 acres of land into mixed use development.

Don’t believe those that say we want to tax you. The city council has no legal authority to impose new taxes. Any measures to increase taxes must go on the ballot. You the voter is the final arbitrator.

I am proud to have achieved setting the framework for new development, a stronger revenue base, and steering this city from the brink of fiscal instability.
