This week’s student-athlete represents athletes everywhere who love sports too much that they have to excel in more than just one.  Jaelah Dudley, a senior, is involved in four different sports activities at Grand Terrace High School.

Jaelah has received a varsity letter in volleyball, basketball and track. Jaelah also devotes her time to being a student manager for the football team.

Jaelah didn’t reach her level of success overnight; she has been playing and practicing in her sports for almost her entire life. Jaelah, a 16-year-old, has been involved in her sports for the past 11 years.

The biggest challenge that she’s faced as a student-athlete is trying to balance her classwork while playing volleyball.

The way Jaelah pushes through and finds a way to balance her four activities with her school work is from her mother. “Watching my mother get through her problems,” is motivation Jaelah said.

Jaelah plans to continue her athletic career by getting a scholarship to play volleyball for a university and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
