On June 10, 2020 at 11:14 a.m., Brandon Torres approached the victim's residence and knocked on the door. As the victim approached the door, she heard her mailbox open and shut. The victim opened her door and saw Brandon Torres at the door. The victim saw Torres attempt to hide something under his shirt and believed Torres had stolen her mail. The victim told Torres to give her mail back and Torres retrieved mail from underneath his tank top, relinquishing it back to the victim.

The victim called Sheriff's dispatch and reported the mail theft. Deputies arrived and saw a vehicle leaving the victim’s residence. This vehicle was stopped by deputies and Torres, along with another male who had been driving, were both detained for investigation.

Torres was identified as the suspect and arrested. During a search of the vehicle, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were located which were also linked to Torres. The driver was also arrested on separate charges unrelated to the mail theft investigation.

Torres was booked at Central Detention Center for PC 530.5(E)-Mail theft and H&S 11377(a)-Possession of a Controlled Substance.
