Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., the City of Grand Terrace will host A Celebration of Inland Empire Veterans, at Veterans Freedom Park (21950 Pico St, Grand Terrace). Thirty-three (33) cities, throughout the Inland Empire, nominated forty-five (45) Veterans to be unveiled at the Veterans Wall of Freedom this Veterans Day. The Veterans Day ceremony will take place from 3 – 5 p.m. and will be followed by a 20-minute state-of-the-art laser light show, at sundown. Residents of the Inland Empire are encouraged to come out and enjoy food trucks and other festivities.

The Veterans Wall of Freedom was built to honor all Veterans and is considered a significant regional landmark in the Inland Empire. As a result, the City of Grand Terrace City Council invited each city in the Inland Empire to nominate a Veteran from their community, in celebration of the City’s 40th anniversary. Those cities participating are: Banning, Barstow, Beaumont, Cathedral City, Chino, Colton, Desert Hot Springs, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Hemet, Hesperia, Highland, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Montclair, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Needles, Norco, Ontario, Perris, Rialto, Riverside, San Bernardino, Temecula, Twentynine Palms, Upland, Victorville, Wildomar and Yucaipa. Elected officials, Veterans and their families, from all over the Inland Empire will be present for the unveiling.

Guests are encouraged to park at Grand Terrace High School (21810 Main St, Grand Terrace). A shuttle bus will transport guests to and from the event site from the designated event parking lot at the high school. Numerous food trucks, including Bacon Nation, Big Wave Grill, Kona Ice, Me So Hungry, Street Foods Co. and The Sweet Stop will be serving a variety of foods including barbeque and grilled items, sweets and other comfort foods, all day long. There will be a wheelchair basketball exhibition game, hosted by the Rolling Bears, at 1 p.m. Additionally, there will be music, community entertainment, and other activities for guests to enjoy prior to the Veterans Day ceremony. The laser light show will conclude the day’s activities.
