The Crossroads Rotary Club of San Bernardino and Loma Linda awarded $400 to five Grand Terrace High School students for the club’s annual Four-Way Speech Contest on March 14.

The students all are members of Esmeralda Shreiner’s Advanced Placement English class. Top speakers are their awards were:

• Daniel Ganaban, First Place, $200

• Alissa Cervantes, Second Place, $100

• Alexis Sanft, Third Place, $50

• Mariam Youseff, Fourth Place, $25

• Esmeralda Nunez, Fifth Place, $25

Students wrote and delivered their speeches to focus on the principles of Rotary International’s Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the truth?

2. Is it fair to all concerned?

3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

4. Will to be beneficial to all concerned?

Club members evaluated the student speeches, based on student delivery, relevance, and connection to the Four-Way Test. Rotary’s Four-Way Test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings.

Crossroads Rotary recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The club takes part in community service projects locally and globally. Members meet Wednesdays at 12 noon at 250 S. G Street, San Bernardino. For information, visit crossroadsrotary.net or contact President Gary Kerstetter, 909-253-3154 or gary.kerstetter@yahoo.com.
