GRAND TERRACE>> More than 30 seniors gathered near the garden at the Grand Terrace Senior Center to celebrate the Center's first Picnic Day on Tuesday, April 11. With a cool breeze and nice weather, Flo Elliott, volunteer director of Senior Services, said it was a perfect day for a picnic. The dining room chairs were moved outside and onto the veranda where the seniors had a chance to enjoy one another’s company and a good meal. Elliott said the participants enjoyed a chili cheese hot dog and potato chips, a change in the regular menu. “(We had) potato chips because what’s a picnic without potato chips?” Elliott said. “Everybody loved it. I did not have one complaint about the day.” Elliott said the next picnic is expected to be in May. For more information about the activities at the Grand Terrace Senior Center, call (909) 824-1491. The senior center is located at 22627 Grand Terrace Road in Grand Terrace, CA 92313 and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
