ALL (Minus MV)>> First Congregational United Church of Christ of San Bernardino is celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the founding of their congregation in 1867, and also the 50th anniversary of their famously enormous Rummage Sale. Anniversary activities began on February 17, exactly 150 years after the founding worship service of the congregation in San Bernardino, and have included history tours, dinners, visits from former clergy and church members from all over the country, and a special anniversary concert. Now, they are continuing the celebrations with their 50th annual Rummage Sale, to be held this year on Friday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Newcomers and returners alike are always impressed with just how large this sale is; spread across the church campus with special separate sections for clothing, shoes, tools, electronics, decorations, bedding, furniture, books, large and small appliances, housewares, toys, plants, and much more. There is also a special auction room full of treasures and a boutique area. The kitchen is also open with breakfasts, lunches, and desserts to support our Las Familias Preschool. All are invited to come participate in this 50th Rummage Sale, as a part of this year of wonderful celebrations. For more information on this event, please contact the church office at 909-886-4911 or email office@sbucc.org. More details about the church and its upcoming celebrations can be found at www.sbucc.org. Photographs, both historical and contemporary, are available upon request.
