The Line Fire has scorched 20,553 acres between Highland and Running Springs since it began on Thursday, September 5. Zero containment has been achieved. No structures have been damaged or destroyed. Three firefighters have been injured.

The incident is under the Unified Command of CAL FIRE San Bernardino-Inyo-Mono Unit, City of Highland; the San Bernardino National Forest; the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District; and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Several San Bernardino County departments and agencies and their employees are playing valuable roles in assisting the community, including the Office of Homeless Services, the departments of Behavioral Health and Public Health, Aging and Adult Services, Fleet Management, Public Works, Regional Parks, Human Resources, and the Office of Emergency Services.

On Saturday, San Bernardino County proclaimed the existence of a local emergency in response to the Line Fire. Later in the day, California Gov. Gavin Newsom proclaimed a State of Emergency in San Bernardino County. Both actions make San Bernardino County eligible for state and federal assistance in responding to and recovering from the fire.

The public is encouraged to call 211 or visit https://prepare.sbcounty.gov/line-fire/ for evacuation and assistance information. Public information on the fire itself is available from the U.S. Forest Service at 909-220-4292.
