In previous elections, the San Bernardino County Elections office used to provide City Hall and the San Bernardino County Library with cardboard ballot drop boxes that were located within the facility, for residents to drop off their official mail-in ballots during election season. That option is no longer available.
On September 22, 2020 the City Council approved the placement of a secure, Official Ballot Drop Box to be located outside of City Hall on the west side of the building in front of the San Bernardino County Library entrance.
Since October 6, 2020 the County has unlocked the secure Ballot Drop Box to allow residents to begin depositing their completed mail-in ballots.
The County has teams that cover Regions of the County of San Bernardino and the County will have a schedule where each team periodically retrieves and inspects the Ballot Drop Box.
