Preparing for the Blue Mountain Hike

Grand Terrace’s annual Blue Mountain Hike happened Saturday, March 1, ang it was a beautiful day for the hike.

As the big day approached, the city was hard at work ensuring the mountain trail is safe, smooth, and ready to welcome hikers of all ages and experience levels. The dedicated Grand Terrace maintenance crew was been out in full force, clearing the trail, leveling the path, and making sure every step you take this weekend is one of confidence and enjoyment.

A Trail Transformed

If you’ve ever hiked Blue Mountain, you know it’s a local gem, offering breathtaking views and a heart-pumping climb that brings out the adventurer in all of us. But before we could foot on the trail, an unsung team of heroes were making magic happen behind the scenes.

Armed with shovels, rakes, and a whole lot of determination, the city’s maintenance crew has been removing debris, smoothing out uneven terrain, and ensuring that the path is as safe as it is scenic. Loose rocks? Gone. Overgrown brush? Cleared. Every step of the trail is being fine-tuned so that hikers can focus on the joy of the journey without worrying about unexpected obstacles.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate their hard work—because without them, our beloved hike wouldn’t be the same. If you see a crew member this weekend, be sure to give them a big “thank you!”
