Angeline Petta passed away in peace while recuperating from a debilitating illness on January 26th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, friends, and care takers. Born on October 19th, 1927, in Blue Island, Illinois, Angie was preceded in death by her husband Anthony (Tony) and her precious daughter Susan.

Angie graciously loved all her family, friends and community members and personified the phrase “love thy neighbor”. Angie thrived doing volunteer activities. She freely and happily donated her time throughout her life to organize and participate in Grand Terrace Community Art Shows, City Historical Committees, and advocating reading whilst a key member of the Friends of the Library committee to promote school learning and advance education to the children of the community.

Angie received her education from the University of Chicago and parlayed her learning to become an elementary school teacher. She found joy in conveying youthful knowledge and took pride in witnessing the progression of her students as they grew and became successful, some reaching celebrity status.

Ann accepted the hand of her lifetime love, Tony, in marriage, a blissful union that endured 60 years and now continues in a spiritual realm. Ann and Tony’s dreams led them to Southern California where they together started a small family culinary business and in parallel worked as title search agents with the hopes of establishing themselves as property owners. With this dream realized, Ann and Tony began to delve into becoming licensed, practicing Real Estate agents. It was in this capacity that TP Real Estate prospered and sparked a pioneering spirit in the community that ultimately resulted in the founding of the City of Grand Terrace in 1978, whereby Tony, with Ann by his side, became the charter Mayor and remained side-by-side together to realize their vision for a united community built on trust and faith.

As a final benevolent gesture prior to passing, Ann donated a valuable parcel property to the City of Grand Terrace, in the spirit of community goodwill, to develop the land for a Community Library in honor of her husband and Charter Mayor, Tony Petta.

Although Ann’s passing marks the end of her physical life, it will be comforting for all to know that she is now united in spirit with Tony and Susan. Also be comforted to know that the spiritual family reunion of all those that have passed can now rejoice with Ann and enjoy her stuffed peppers without end. If you disagree, Ann’s response would be “by gum”.

Services will be at the Montecito Mortuary in Colton, CA on Friday, February 21st at 9AM. A private mortuary service is planned immediately following completion of the service. A celebration of a complimentary life luncheon will take place beginning at 11:30am at the Grand Terrace Senior Center. Please consider either flowers or a small donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Ann’s blessed daughter Susan.
