During June 13, 2023, City Council Meeting, City Staff shared their excitement and appreciation for this year’s Grand Terrace Community Day.

Council Member Ken Henderson happily shared, “At least in my recent memory, it was probably the most successful event that I have attended and I think it was a really good reflection of Grand Terrace as a community.”

“If you know anything about event planning, the attention to detail, when things go smoothly, it appears to manage itself,” continued Henderson. “But there is significant attention to detail to make these events successful so I want to compliment those who I have already mentioned, I want to compliment city staff for organizing a wonderful event, and hope that this is the first of many to come.”

Council Member Jeff Allen echoed Henderson’s sentiments and said, “I was at the community also with him and it was a great day and great event. And I just think that each year, our foundation, volunteers, our committee, and parks and rec, things just get better and better. I am looking forward to the Harvest Festival and Light Up Grand Terrace, and next year’s Community Day because I am hoping we can incorporate a parade- that would be great!”

Lastly, Mayor Bill Hussey concluded the success of Grand Terrace Community Days that was felt amongst all City Council by and thanked those who participated by saying, “That’s what makes Grand Terrace great, all the volunteers.”
